🤍 Wooden maps made with love 🤍
Our Story. We are Igor and Aleksandra, originally from Belarus. Like any young family, at first, we were wage workers, but we always wanted to have our own business and, most importantly, to create something with our own hands.
In late 2017, we acquired our first equipment and began to explore ourselves. We started with children's nightlights with illumination, but initially, we wanted to make wooden maps of the world because the world is so big and beautiful, and we all live in it. Drawing the map we envisioned took a lot of time. We wanted to see a truly detailed world map that would genuinely delight our customers.
It took us a year to create the exact map that we wanted. We were constantly changing things, rejoicing when things worked out, and feeling disappointed when they didn't. Our world map turned out to be complex and time-consuming to produce, but it's better to do it this way than to do something poorly. We devoted a lot of time to ensure that the world map was truly high-quality and detailed.
If you look closely at the map, almost all the countries in the world don't overlap in colors and height, even though the map only has four colors and three heights of wood for the 3D design. Thus, each country on our world map is unique.
After finally getting a really cool and high-quality world map, we set up the production process, and people started buying from us at the local market in Belarus. But our joy was short-lived. In 2020, Belarus had presidential elections. The results were sad; the dictator remained in power, and persecutions began against all dissenters and protesters.
Many people ended up in prison, and many had to leave their country, leaving everything behind. We had to do the same, otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this story, and you wouldn't know anything about us. Poland became our new home, providing us with protection and the opportunity to continue our business.
But in reality, we were very lost. A new country, a new language – although Polish is understandable for Belarusians, it still significantly differs from Belarusian. And it all started over again: searching for a production facility, searching for housing, finding a school for our child, buying equipment, registering the company, studying laws, and many other issues.
We lost a lot of time, energy, and nerves, but we kept moving towards our goal. Looking back now in 2024, we realized that we did everything right. We lost our home, but we remained honest and on the side of good, alive and free.
Now, our cool world map has appeared in many homes in different countries. And when we read reviews about our world map, we are overwhelmed with emotions. We keep moving forward. Love and goodness always triumph over evil, it's just a matter of time...
